Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications from laryngologists for the full-time position of Director of the Voice, Airway, and Swallowing Program to head the Division of Laryngology in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

The successful applicant must be board-certified or board-eligible in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has completed a fellowship in Laryngology. The candidate will have an opportunity to build a robust clinical practice encompassing all aspects of laryngology, to teach residents, medical students, and speech language pathology students, and to develop a successful research program. The department has a satellite office in the city to foster partnership with the Lyric Opera, theater groups, and music schools. Rush is currently building a state-of-the-art rehabilitation hospital in partnership with Select Medical at its main campus location.  Candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor are encouraged to apply for this position. 

The department has 17 faculty, 5 APPs, and 8 audiologists that provide comprehensive array of otolaryngology services at the main campus and four regional sites. The department is planning to add four new faculty over the next year and two additional regional sites with its ongoing clinical expansion. The program is currently ranked #34 on US News and World Report and is the highest ranked program in the state of Illinois.
