THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA DEPARTMENT OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY is seeking applications for a Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join a busy tertiary care practice. The position involves clinical service, research opportunities, and
resident and fellow teaching. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful applicant will be fellowship trained in pediatric otolaryngology and board certified or board eligible in otolaryngology.  

The University of Iowa Department of Otolaryngology has been consistently ranked among the top 1% out of more than 4,500 ear, nose, and throat hospitals nationwide. Our UI Stead Family Children’s hospital is home to Iowa’s only Level 1 trauma center for pediatrics and pediatric surgery team, with 190 pediatric beds. The hospital is also home to Iowa’s largest and only Level 4 NICU, with 88 beds.

Our pediatric otolaryngologists work together as a care team with audiologists, speech pathologists, physical therapists, and certified otolaryngology nurses to diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of conditions, including cleft lip and palate, hearing impairment, rhinitis and sinusitis, recurrent and chronic salivary gland problems, congenital or late-onset airway abnormalities unique to children, common pediatric conditions, and many others.

Our pediatric care teams work alongside other UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital specialists, to hold Multidisciplinary clinics, including the Vascular Anomalies Clinic, Aerodigestive Clinic, Cleft Craniofacial Clinic, Ear Eye Genetic Clinic, and Hearing Loss Clinic.

We are a leading National Institutes of Health-funded research program – from developing next-generation devices to pinpointing the genetic causes of deafness to exploring new treatments for inner ear disease and hearing loss. Our training programs and long-established expertise in this specialty make us a valuable clinical resource for hospitals and other care providers around the world.
