Pediatric Otolaryngology/LSUHSC

Position Title: Pediatric Otolaryngologists
Hiring Facility:
Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Specialty Field:  Pediatric Otolaryngology

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center is actively seeking two (2) fellowship-trained, BC/BE (or equivalent) pediatric otolaryngologists for full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (clinical, non-tenure track). These are excellent opportunities to join our growing academic practice.

The pediatric section of the LSU Otolaryngology Department currently consists of 4 full-time faculty and 1 full-time adjunct faculty with clinical practices at the Children’s Hospital New Orleans. Selected candidates will assume dedicated pediatric otolaryngology positions at the new Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The hospital is scheduled to open in October 2019 and will be a freestanding, state-of-the-art, 130-bed, tertiary care facility with an adjoining ambulatory center.  The new facility will have pediatric and neonatal care units with 24/7 attending coverage, a full range of pediatric subspecialists including pediatric anesthesiologists and an active pediatric hospitalist service.

Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisiana located 75 miles northwest of New Orleans. It is the home of
Louisiana State University and represents a blend of southern charm and Cajun culture.

Our faculty members benefit from cross-coverage arrangements for weekend and holiday on-call responsibilities and share the benefit of subspecialty support in otology, laryngology, head and neck oncology and plastic/reconstructive surgery for complex patients.

Clinical responsibilities will be limited to complex and special needs children with an emphasis on complex aerodigestive and head and neck disorders. Community-based, private practice physicians will support the care of general pediatric otolaryngology patients in the new hospital.  These faculty positions are suitable for a clinician-scientist and include dedicated time for research and education.  Applicants will be encouraged to submit research plans and selected projects may qualify for initial funding.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package through the State of Louisiana.  Academic appointment rank and salary will be commensurate with individual education and experience.

Candidates interested in working within a dynamic and stimulating setting combined with a generous package of related benefits are encouraged to provide a cover letter and current Curriculum Vitae online:  https://lsuh.sc/jobs/?id=1966
